About Channelview Texas

Channelview TX is one of several “oil refinery suburbs” in the Houston-Baytown-Sugar Land metro area of Harris County. The city takes its name from the Houston Ship Channel. The current population is 35,700, but a few of the city’s more infamous residents gained notoriety in 1991 when Wanda Webb Holloway hired a hit man to kill Verna Heath, the mother of her daughter’s rival in the local cheerleading tryouts.
